The men have to finish their Tour de France first, which takes almost all of July, but the women will get their chance when the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift starts on August 1st. I’ve been highlighting some of the ladies you’re apt to see on the starting line; today, Spanish racer (she comes from the Catalan region) Paula (pronounced more as “Powla”) Blasi is the focus.
Riding for the mighty UAE-ADQ team, Paula Blasi is an upcoming young (age 23) superstar in women’s cycling. She is a former UEC European Under 23 Road Race Champion (2025,) and won 4 pro races that same year.
And she’s having one hell of a 2026 thus far, with 3 wins already. This year, she’s already won the ladies first Grand Tour of the season - La Vuelta Feminina (where she also won the Mountains Classification as best climber;) the Amstel Gold Race; and the Spanish race Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria. She also won the Mountains Classification at this year’s Tour Down Under (3rd overall.)
Wait just a minute! Update!
Make that 4 wins this year. Earlier today Blasi won Stage 2 of the Women’s Volta a Catalunya with a big solo effort.
I’m curious to see what kind of fireworks she brings to the Tour. We shall see!
Link is a short of Paula winning today’s stage 2 of the Women’s Volta a Catalunya tour:

The women fought hard to become relevant again. That's one reason I follow them. The other is that they put on an entertaining show.
