I was done. Except I wasn’t. I’ve been highlighting U.S. cyclists in anticipation of the upcoming Tour de France, I said I was finished with it yesterday. Except, I spaced this guy out. Shame on me.
Brandon McNulty, born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1998, rides for the mighty UAE-Team Emirates. Although a time trial specialist, he is primarily a domestique, tasked with working for his team leader. In this case, McNulty’s team leader is Tadej Pogacar, the most dominant cyclist on the planet at the moment (he’s Eddy Merckx-esque in his dominance.) McNulty does get his chances to shine, however.
Brandon McNulty is a 3 x U.S. Junior National Time Trial Champion, and a 2 x U.S. Under 23 Time Trial Champion. As an adult pro, McNulty has won the U.S. Time Trial Championship twice.
After turning pro in 2017, Brandon has won a stage in two Grand Tours - the Giro d’ Italia in 2023 and La Vuelta a Espana (2024.) A Tour de France stage win would give him the rare trifecta. Hopefully, this year!
Other wins include the Tour of Luxembourg in 2025, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montreal (2025,) where he crossed the line alongside Pogacar; and the GP Miguel Indurain in 2024 (first American to win that race.)
I’m not sure how I spaced him out, honestly. Sorry, Brandon.

@teamfreak16 I find the long stretches on road less than enthralling, but hills, both up and down, are good

He's a fun watch when he's got the opportunity.
