Enjoyed the World Cup so far. Lot more games this time and many in the middle of the night so a negative there .Weather has been great and the crowds huge, the two things that were supposed to be a problem, according to the press. But if the Americans no one thing, they know business. They targeted ex pats of the 48 nations living in the US first, then travelling fans. There is a logic to this as they will pay those huge prices as they dont have to buy flights and hotels on top. Travelling fans buy their air tickets in another country and plenty of choice to keep the price down. The hotels were underbooked as local fans didn't need them.
One or two funky results like Spain 0-0 with Cape Verde but only 14 of the teams get knocked out in the group games so hard for the big boys to fail. Goal average is also less important if you get a minnow or two in your group as you move above a team you beat if level in the table on points at the end.
No thunder protocols yet and we have started to see those at cricket matches in the U.K. Not sure what spectators are supposed to do in the World Cup when there is thunder and lightning around though , other than get wet.
My team England did ok by beating an ageing Croatia team that beat us 8 years ago in the World Cup semi final. Ghana next. We should win the group. Harry Kane scored 56 goals last season for England and Munich, a two-footed beast of a striker.
