Am I the only one?

’ll admit it, there was a time when I paid a lot more attention to sports. Of course, that was over twenty years ago, back when my biggest responsibility was remembering what time the game started. Life was a lot simpler then. These days, between work, family, and the endless list of things that seem to demand my attention, keeping up with sports has slipped pretty far down the priority list. I do know the World Cup is going on right now. Beyond that, though, I couldn't tell you who's playing, who's winning, or even how far along the tournament is. For all I know, they could be in the championship match already and I'd still be sitting here wondering if the group stage had started. Meanwhile, it feels like everyone else is talking about it. Social media is full of highlights, upset victories, and people passionately debating teams and players I've never even heard of. And somehow I've managed to avoid all of it. Not only have I not watched a game, I haven't even accidentally stumbled across one while channel surfing. That's actually kind of impressive when you think about it. So tell me... am I the only person who hasn't watched a single minute of the World Cup? Or are there a few other people out there who are just as clueless as I am?
