Do you listen to old sentimental songs?

Every time I do chores or some online work, I usually open Spotify and listen to old sentimental songs. Mostly from the 70s, 80s, and the 90s. My husband once told me that I'm such an old soul. I don't know. Maybe because I grew up listening to these songs being played on the radio. And they tend to give me a feeling of peace and calm.
When my brother and I were babies/toddlers, our eldest sister would put us to sleep by singing songs from Air Supply, Beatles, America, Bread, etc. She had a collection of "song hits" - a booklet of song lyrics and chords published monthly and sold at newspaper stands. When she's not singing, she would turn on the radio and tune in to a FM station that plays all those sentimental ballads. I'm glad our sister introduced us to this kind of music.

I have a lot of old songs I enjoy and a very long Favorite list on YouTube of songs in both English and Latvian.

You know what, it was only very recently that I had the idea of searching YouTube for the 8os and 90s MTVs. And, boy, I had so much fun watching and listening to them while doing my chores. What a treat.

I connect with 80s and 90s music because it was the soundtrack of my childhood. I don’t listen to the radio much anymore, since I can easily find that kind of music online. Whenever I’m in the mood, I just search for it on a music app and play it for as long as I want.

I guess we were born on the same era. I have Spotify on my phone and laptop. I go to a website where I can listen to live streaming of Philippine FM radio stations. I still get excited over the DJ's lineup - although some stations obviously just rely on Spotify nowadays.

I was already quite content with the Walkman. But then it's also nice that you can just search for a song in a jiffy.

Yes, these old songs are like warm hugs. I also play them while preparing dinner. It's an old habit that I want to revive.
