Hotspotting (for now) while Internet services are out

It's been 24 hours since Globe at Home disabled the wi-fi services in our area. It looks like most of Pasig city and parts of Cainta are experiencing the same outage. Apparently, this issue may ensure until July 1st! I'm currently using my phone's personal hotspot to go online. It's a good thing I don't have any online meetings or work deadlines to worry about. Many residents in our apartment complex are already typing in ALL CAPS at the Globe GC on Viber. I understand that some of them work from home and some are probably online sellers. Hence, the frustration. I just wonder if they notice that the helpdesk that replies to them actually "sounds" like a bot. It's a Monday and husband is back in his office. The girls are still on vacation. They are jamming in their room right now. First daughter on electric guitar and the second daughter on keyboard. I'm doing the laundry while myLotting. I'll probably sketch later or finish the book that I've been reading.

The internet has become as essential as electricity or water these days. It’s no longer a luxury but a necessity, with most work and personal activities tied to it in some way. Hopefully, Globe can restore their service soon so no one has to deal with the inconvenience of being without it.

@almostoveryou, that seems like a very long 36 hours. I'm not sure what caused that outage. Given how long the outage lasted, I believe you should request adjustments to your bill.

Indeed. We were lucky to have the internet back after 36 hours. It took 2-3 days in other areas. Many residents here work from home, and they had online meetings and deadlines. I understand the concern.

Apparently, Meralco snipped all Globe cables in our area that do not have a permit. This means that Globe will have to reapply for those permits! I don't know how long it will take to have those permits re-issued. I'm sad that these two companies did not communicate and coordinate well with each other. It may take days before we get our Internet back.

@almostoveryou that is frustrating. Those permits should have been done prior to implementation. I am sure many of you are affected in your area

@rakski true. Especially those who work from home. I'm glad this issue has been resolved.

It's like a waiting game. Internet was restored last night at 8pm. What a relief!

It's obvious that the girls are having the time of their life...so sad that the wifi service was disabled.
