Confusing weather reports

My Android phone says that we're having rains for the entire week. My Microsoft Edge browser says otherwise - apparently, we have to expect 5 days of extreme heat. I don't know who's got the right forecast. I'm actually hoping for cloudy days with cool breeze. If only we could customize the weather where we are. By far, the most reliable weather forecast comes from the Japan Meteorological Society. I haven't plotted out my errands for the week in my planner. I usually mark each day with the corresponding weather forecast. On Wednesday, husband and I will go to social security services. That's my only appointment so far. Rain or shine, we go. It's 11:49 a.m. Bing says rains will come in 42 minutes. Let's wait and see.

@almostoveryou In Oklahoma it routinely gets hotter than Europe is right now. The difference is because the heat is almost constant here, we have air conditioning. Europe isn’t familiar with it so most of them don’t.

@AmbiePam Good to know you've got air conditioning. I heard from news that many houses in Europe are made of materials that retain heat. And there's almost no provision for aircon installation. I hope some could at least get a portable air cooler.

I hope your summer won't be as hot as Europe's!

I have experienced something like this before, the weather app tells me we are going to get a heavy rainfall, only to get a shower or nothing at all. I guess you we have to wait to see which one is correct.

The browser was correct this time. There was a heavy downpour an hour after I posted this discussion.

With so many of those apps available I think I would chose one app that can predict it more closely to reality. I think they follow algorithm that may at times be wrong at times. I usually would look into weather agency responsible to monitor our own weather. Though they migh also be wrong as well but so far they have been almost accurate all the time the past few years they have been predicting forecast.

@almostoveryou I guess they have their sources of information and does not rely on their own forecast nowadays as there are many that do that.

Our local weather bureau has improved its forecast since they received an upgrade of equipment. But they also often refer to the JMS to form basis of their forecast.

It's been like that the past few years. Still, I'm thankful for the rains.

Isn't it funny how the app acts like the weather itself?

Was it raining then? Weather forecast is actually not accurate.

When we get extreme heat, it usually does create thunderstorms in the afternoon, so both could be right. However, if the JMS forecasts are the most accurate, I'd stick with those.

Yes, even our local weather bureau relies on JMS.

Here also the weather has been unpredictable and confusing. The weather forecast has been declaring heavy rain in our area, but we have not had even a single drop of rain for last three days. Before three days it had rained, but for ten to fifteen minutes only.

Most of these weather forecast are unreliable..I take them with a pinch of salt because most times, they are not right

We get typhoons year-round here. That's what compels me to check the weather every day. We're now in the wet season. The satellite forecast shows us the low-pressure areas that are likely to enter our area of responsibility.
