I'm on the hunt for some yard plant's

I'm looking for some yard plant's that is easily grown to put in my garden to help kill the weeds that is taking over faster than I can keep them at bay & cut down. Some ground cover plant's that will smother the weeds something that will grow back every year, something that can with stand the cold northern winters, & the heat. I don't need a lot of it but enough to get it going good to get starter plant's from it to put in other places to grow Something like the video is taking about will work. If you have anything like this that I could use I'd be very grateful to have some I'm not having any luck finding any, so I thought I'd see if you could help me. Please don't delete this post, as it would be very helpful if someone could help me with this.
