We Got Into A Minor Road Rage Incident Today

After taking the mother in law back to the memory care facility today hubby and I were driving home in a road with two lanes going each direction for a total of four lanes with a divider We saw a sign that said “right lane closed ahead” so we got into the left lane. Other people ignored the sign and kept going in the right lane. When the right lane was within a few yards of being blocked a white sedan tried to get in front of us in the left lane. There wasn’t enough room for her to merge This is one of hubby’s pet peeves so he wasn’t being accommodating and wouldn’t let her in. She nearly struck our car. She gave us the finger as we continued down the road Then she was behind us in the left lane and keep revving her engine and speeding up on our bumper like she was going to ram us. Hubby slammed in the brakes and I screamed at him asking why he would do something so stupid to cause her to hit us. But she didn’t hit us You see, hubby was a police officer for 23 years and learned defensive driving maneuvers. As soon as he slammed on the brakes causing her to slam on her brakes, he immediately accelerated and avoided it being hit. As soon as we could we got into the now available right lane and she sped past us on the left giving us the finger. Hubby returned the favor with his middle finger It was really quite scary and entirely unnecessary on both their parts
