Would you tell your kid the truth about his father?

I'm a single mother and i know that one of this day he'll ask me where is his father. As of now, he new that his father is already gone because he never saw him since he was born ( i just want to point it out that i never put it in his mind, he said it so that other people would stop asking about his father ). If that day comes, would you tell him that his father doesn't want him and even want him to be aborted or will you just tell a lie to protect and not to hurt him?

THERE IS AN OLD SAYING YOU CAN EVER TELL WHO YOUR FATHER IS BUT YOU ALWAYS KNOW WHO YOUR MUM IS.DON,T LIE TO HIM JUST WAIT UNTIL HE ASKS.

Ok I wouldn't lie to him but I wouldn't tell him that his father didn't want him. Mkae it out to be his fathers fault. If you tell him that his father didn't want him a young child will take that as a blow to their self esteem. Being a fatherless child myself I can say for a fact that my mother telling me about my father in the way she did was a help to how I developed.
