They are laying eggs!!!!!

Many of you know that we got chickens earlier this year. Well, after months of feeding them, watering them, cleaning up after them, and generally catering to their every need, they have finally decided to start contributing to the household. ?? Around 11:00 this morning, She Child came running in and proudly presented me with our very first egg. The first egg from any of our chickens! Naturally, we were all pretty excited. Then, about thirty minutes later, she came back inside carrying four more eggs. So just like that, we went from zero eggs to five eggs in less than an hour. We officially have egg-producing chickens! I know this probably sounds silly to people who have had chickens forever, but there is something surprisingly exciting about collecting those first eggs. After months of waiting, our feathered freeloaders have finally started paying rent!
