I'm Ashley, a student at a private school. I was just quiet at that time even though our family is somewhat known since my dad is one of the top sponsors of the school. I was in 3rd year of high school when I met Damien, who was also in 3rd year. Almost all the girls liked him, and some even had crushes on him. In short, he is the campus heartthrob. We didn't really get to know each other well; we were just batchmates in the same school. I was in Class A section at that time, and he was in Class B. Back then, girls really chased after him; I mean, he had built-in muscles, was tall and moreno (dark brown skin), and was even a varsity player at school. I was simple, skinny, and we were almost the same height, both about 6 feet. But I was fair-skinned, probably because I wasn’t really into physical activities, nor into books instead. Until one day, Damien's mom started working for us as a helper, and yes, mama accepted her quickly because they’ve known each other and been friends since high school. And that's when Damien and I started becoming close. We go to school together and we go home together. He also sleeps at our house since we have a sleeping quarter and maids, and there's a guest room too, so that's where he stayed. Damien: I might get a bit late going out of school, can you wait for me? We just need to finish our basketball practice. Pleaaaaase Me: Ok! Damien: Thanks Ash, I'll buy you drinks later. Since Friday, I haven't been doing anything at home and mom and dad aren't around either. Since Friday night, they've probably been at their friends' place again for sure. So, I decided to wait for him. After their practice, we went straight to the mall to shop for whatever. Me: Didn't you say you'd buy me drinks because you made me wait? Damien: Ah, oh right, (then he smiled) Go ahead and say what you want, I'll buy it. Me: anything is fine for me. He suddenly disappeared. Then when he came back, he had an energy drink with him. My eyes went wide when I saw the energy drink he brought. I said at the same time, “Are you serious? (Me) Damien laughed out loud, then said, 'That's not for you. It's for me, I just ordered a smoothie and food, because I'm getting hungry.' (Damien said). I just said OK. You're way too serious, that's why you don't have many friends at school. Look at me, I'm cheerful and have lots of friends. (Damien). That's how our routine was. Until the school year was almost over, we were both doing excellent in our class. Before the school year ended, our school held Thanksgiving party before the vacation. Summer Vacation. It's vacation time, I decided not to go with my parents out of the country for this vacation. Aunt Claire (Damien's mother) is the one staying with me at home and Damien. Aunt Claire is often not at home because sometimes she goes to their house to clean and take care of things. Damien and I are left at our house. Damien knows how to cook when it's time to eat, so he's the one who takes care of things when it's time to eat. Of course, I handle the dishwashing, so you can't say I don't contribute. Our bond with Damien grew even deeper. Sometimes I catch him staring at me, and I do the same. Damien has this vibe that makes you feel like you'll melt when he smiles at you. Oh, you're staring at me, maybe later you'll fall in love with me, (Damien). But when there are other people around, his/her sweetness is a bit distant. Damien, do you have plans for weekends? If not, come with me to the rest house. Mom said I should visit the place. Just for the weekends. (Ashley) No, there's nothing, why do you want me all to yourself? (Damien) I just smiled and said, whatever, Even I know that day he has a plan to meet and play basketball with he’s team. (Honestly it makes me happy inside that he rather goes with me instead to play basketball.) If you want, you can ask your team to come with us to the rest house, so they can see the place and enjoy. Damien suddenly jumped and said really. That’s amazing, the guys will for sure come with us. But tell them to bring their own food, no one will cook for us. (Ashley) Don't worry, I'll cook for you, (He laughs with a hint of teasing). I’ll go ahead and I will tell the guys.
