There Seems to be More Transgender People Now

I keep seeing more and more transgender people in my city 99% of them are men living as women. We had a great interaction with a person named Delilah at the pet store today but when we walked outside I asked my husband if “she” was actually a man and he said yes There’s a “woman” who is clearly a man who works out at our gym There’s a young woman who works at the convenience store who holds herself out as a man And there’s more I will say that these are all young people in their twenties Psychiatrists are clear that gender dysphoria is a mental illness. It makes me sad that so many young people are so confused about their identity.

Oh now, lol, While gender dysphoria has historically been classified as a mental disorder, recent updates in medical classifications have shifted this perspective. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) now uses the term "gender incongruence" and explicitly states that it is not considered a mental disorder. This change aims to reduce stigma and recognize the diversity of gender identities without pathologizing them. But I agree with you

@LooeyVille It's mental. But our kids are being influenced by these nutjobs all over the place. We are not allowed to tell it like it is We can't object to all this inclusive crap either Kids are told about this crap from elementary school It's ok little Johnny you can be little Julie one day It's not normal It's not an illness It's a mental health problem which can be fixed if the governments didn't buy into all this gender crap Male and female Nothing sad about that

'Western' society is so messed up nowadays in ways we could never have foreseen. I do wonder if this is real or is it something of a fad for some people? Also in some cases it seems to be seen as the answer to every problem - if a teenager is a bit miserable (and haven't most people had periods like that?) then they are told they must be trans and then if they get the hormones and surgery everything will be A-OK. Also I think it is undoing all the work of past generations in breaking down gender stereotypes. We have fought for the right for women to wear trousers and drive tractors or play football or whatever, and men to wear dresses and make-up if they want, and now we seem to have gone through that period and instead now if a woman wears trousers and wants to drive a tractor she's told 'Oh you can't be a real woman, you must actually be a trans man' and if a man wants to wear a dress he must be a trans woman. I really hope this phase passes because all this messing about with people's bodies is only going to cause more health problems in the future which we all have to pay for treating!

I admit that I simply have not run into that many trans people. Even here in the Bay Area. It's something I hear about, but I just don't have much experience with it.
