A new General took over and the Marines made some changes. They took my brothers from me. Moved them to Downtown Camp Lejeune so to speak you know we in french creek and if those names sound french its because they are.
I will let you all look up on the history of that. Things that were expected was amazing, We be up in third deck getting hammered and then see these llights. We all get quiiet you could hear their boots, it made you proud and sad and anxious .
You getting hammered and getting a bit emotional and then dumb roommate goes have a nice walk gentleman, leader does neat even look up, shut up pogue.
Some reason its was so funny and true. Then the general moved them out and was getting inspected. One of the inspectors was like they even took the doorbell. Which actually was a big no no but for some reason Marine Headquarters aloud it for a spell.
They took what was theirs sir. I have the TV , its in the war locker, that all you had, pretty much, damn this place is so empty now,.If so impressed you know where they are. Every one said kind of does not feel the same anymore.
Once they broke us all up it was never quite the same. We still did our jobs.

You guys had a doorbell? You lived in the barracks? We had no such luxury. Dudes banged on the damn door as hard as they could.

We had all kind of crazy stuff against regulations, we liked to think we made lives better for those grunts doing the heavy lifting, it really did make leadership go these dudes deserve a bit more.

@jstory07 Well to be fair, at least they alert you and it is part of their nature they run and hide to attack anyone they deem as a threat. In the wild anyway.

@crossbones27 My cats go to the door if they hear someone outside the door. Than they run.
