As the closest surviving heir, my family was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony when I learned several months ago that the university where my father once worked was planning to rename it in his honor. My father will finally be pleased to see his name on one of the buildings there, and we are extremely proud that it was completed yesterday.

@Ineeddentures of course quite proud and happy for him. He may not be around anymore but the memorial serves a great deal for us.

Even though he has been retired for a while, the faculty still remembers him with a quiet fondness. He was the principal of the school when he retired. I am aware that during his tenure as principal, he pushed for the school's buildings to be improved in preparation for the 50th anniversary celebration, and he made sure he could accomplish this before the deadline.
