We know more about space that we do about what’s in our oceans. The Wright brothers only flew together once, because they promised they father they’d always fly separately. Thomas Edison didn’t actually invent most of the inventions he patented. Until 2016, Happy Birthday was copywrited and had royalty fees. In 2016, courts declared it part of the public domain. Do you have any to add?

I do remember the happy birthday song and when it was 'outlawed' so to speak from wait staff singing it in restaurants. One of my husband's brothers has 8 patents. He gets regular royalty payments as the devices are widely used in the tool & dye world. That guy is one smart cookie.

@AmbiePam The funny thing about his brother, Bob, is that my husband and him look like twins. My husband has been walking down the street in the little town where Bob owned a shop, and people will meet him and greet him with a Hi Bob, and my hubs just smiles and says hello. Even the twins will call Uncle Bob Grandpa by mistake. And it is SO funny when they crawl up on his lap and get close to him and realize it is not Grandpa, the look on their face is priceless. We had alot of relatives that worked at the hospital, including Bob's wife, and I remember on several occasions going there and the nursing staff asking him if he is a V------ (our last name) and when he confirmed it, they would stop short and ask which one, and I was always quick to answer, the good looking one. That always got a reaction.

Octopuses has blue blood. They say they are as intelligent as a 3 year old, which gives them a one up on most dogs.

You know, I really only ever had one dumb dog. It was the sweetest dog, but wow, that poor thing.

@AmbiePam They aren't dumb but they say most are only as smart as the average 2 year old. Nico isn't dumb either, but he has a learned helplessness thing going on Of course that is probably mommy's fault..but he is not one to suffer silently.

Some of the things that get me are how history and time work. We often associate certain periods of times as being further back in history than they actually are. For instance, Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife paid the hospital bill for Julia Roberts' birth. Slavery ended in 1865 which sounds like a really long time ago, but when I consider the fact that my grandmother was born in 1912, she was alive at the same time as some former slaves. The Victorian era lasted until 1901, meaning it ran into the 20th century, which is not when most people think of it. The Victorian era was actually happening around the same time as wagon trains and the Old West. We don't think about those times going together, but they did. The Woolly Mammoth actually existed at the same time as humans and was around when Egyptians were building pyramids. Those are the things that kind of blow my mind.

You know, I used to pray every morning for the Lord to use me to bless someone that day. Every time I prayed that prayer, I got the chance to do so. It was amazing as to how it all lined up.

Speaking of the Wright Brothers, the first plane crash fatality was Thomas Selfridge in 1908. He was a passenger in a plane piloted by none other than Orville Wright.

Yes, I know. And to think people got royalties from others singing it on television. So weird.
