Do people still chase passion?

Some time back a child was asked what he wanted to become when he grows up, and the child replied that he wants to become a teacher, while other clapped, the mother was extremely angry saying her child would be a doctor or an engineer cause being a teacher doesn't pay.
This actually made me wonder, do people still follow their passion today, or they just chase after what can put food on their table?
I don't blame the mother though, she simply wants something she feels would pay the child more. What's your take on this?

Money isn't everything
Also who cares what the parents want when we are young and have dreams and aspirations

I understand them though, but at the end of the day, their kids end up living under pressure

It depends, if he can create something out of his passion then its okay to pursue your dream.
Teacher has a better benefits if they are not lazy to study and level up their competency.
And I think employees should not only know how to save as early as today, but also know how to invest, or prepare for to create businesses that can give them passive income when they are old, or planning for an early retirement.
There is nothing to pursue your passion, what matter is you know how to use it and earn from it, and multiply your earning.

Very valid point here, at the end of the day is what you do with your passion that really matters, and people really need to learn how to invest at an early age. This was one mistake i made and am trying to correct it.
