Yes, this union Ford electrician in Kentucky got fired for stealing a cookie worth $1.95 from the company's automated cafeteria kiosk managed by Aramark. The problem is, he didn't steal it. There was a glitch in the self-pay machine. The man had used his debit card and there was a delay or glitch in the transaction, making it look as though he had stolen the cookie. The company fired him immediately, which I find surprising given that Ford is a union environment. But later he was able to show them the $1.95 debit charge on his checking account, providing he hadn't stolen the cookie. Why didn't they ask for that proof before they fired him? So Ford gave him all his back-pay ($33,000) from his time off after being wrongfully fired and offered him his job back, but he has hired a lawyer and is suing Ford and/or Aramark for defamation of character (accusing him of being a thief) and wrongful termination.
