Another update on the lost boy who was found

A little update about the lost boy who came home yesterday. I figured we wouldn't know anything about where he was or why he went missing. The family seemed dead set on not saying anything, but then today they had an interview with the local news. Apparently he messaged his mom from an FB account they didn't know about with a picture of a bus ticket. He was in Columbus, which is about two hours from us. I don't know how he got there or what happened to the bike he took off on. I don't know if he rode his bike all the way to Columbus or if he also got a ticket to Columbus. I wonder if he may have sold his bike for money. There are so many unanswered questions.
The family said they themselves didn't have answers. They said he said he wasn't in a good state of mind when he left, and their goal is to get him into therapy. I'm just glad he didn't do anything to himself. They said they haven't been pressing for answers and want to give him some time before they ask him anything, which is part of why they haven't told anyone anything, because they themselves don't know. They also may want him to deal with his feelings in his own way. He may not want people to know his business, which I get, but when you take off and have everyone searching for you, people are going to know why you left.
I'm just glad he's at home, and his family seems to be getting him help. I never had the audacity to demand answers from them, nor did I feel like I was owed them, but I can't lie and say I didn't want them. I think everyone would like to know what he was doing in Columbus this whole time, who he was with, if anyone, and why he chose there, and what made him decide to finally come back home. I just hope he never does anything like this again; he had his family worried sick.

I agree, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to know; that's human nature. That's why I said if the kid didn't want questions, he shouldn't have taken off and had the whole area looking for him. That said, though, no one is owed anything. I wouldn't dare to even ask about his whereabouts to his family. I might ask someone else if it was mentioned where he was, but if they didn't know, I wouldn't press. It's normal to want to know, but people have to realize that they aren't owed anything. If they were helping look it should have been only for the purpose of wanting to help find him. People have been jerks about it, I'm just grateful he's home and safe. Yeah, I'd like to know the full story, but I know ultimately it's none of my business. I am happy they told us as much as they did; we were all basically looking in the wrong area, and a few kids got flagged down because they resembled him. I'm also curious if anyone did see his actual bike with someone else on it, because I don't know where his bike went. I'm more curious about the case itself, and if anyone was ever remotely close to finding him, depending on how long he was in Columbus for, because most of the tips were in the first week he went missing, so I'm unsure how long he was in the area before going to Columbus. The last confirmed sighting of him was the same day he left or the day after I can't remember which day it was, but he was seen not too far from where he said he was going, but from there he just disappeared. I guess that's the biggest reason I want to know; I'm curious if anyone ever actually saw him.
