I thought it was a title that people could use after their pilgramage to Mecca.

You might be refering to the cartoon of Johnny Quest. His friend named Hajee, was an indian boy, that had studied various mystical ways in India, (i.e. making a rope climb, or using his precious gem on some people)

I was thinking the same thing. He went everywhere with Johnny, he was like his right hand man or sidekick. He was the one that came up with all the ideas if I remember correctly.

If you're referring to Karim Hajee he's a self-improvement guru who puts out a free newsletter, has books and courses on self motivation. Great stuff. He has his own website.
In the old days a Hajee used to be a person who completed the Pilgrimage to Mecca. Upon their return they were referred to as Hajee's or Haji's. That's the origin of the name.
