How do you handle fake friends

...It's 9:30 p.m., I'm back home. As I sat on my sofa, I couldn't help but think about what I've been going through these past weeks. It's been a roller coaster. I trusted someone, a friend, and I genuinely believed we were solid. But she turned out to be different from who I thought she was. I was genuinely hurt..I had to set boundaries..why?..I could see she was taking me for granted and using me. Setting boundaries doesn't mean I stopped caring cos the truth is, I think about her all the time..but I just had to protect myself by setting those boundaries. I'm still learning how to sit with that hurt without letting it run my life. What makes it even harder? Is seeing her happy. Like, completely unbothered, living life like nothing happened. Meanwhile, I've been carrying the weight of of everything that happened between us. That has kind of forced me to accept maybe I was more invested in that friendship than she ever was...she was just my friend because of what she was gaining from me.. obviously, she didn't care as deeply as I did. And even with all of that, I still care and think about her. That's the hardest part. But I'm choosing to prioritize my boundaries over emotions, because protecting my peace isn't selfish. It's necessary. So, even if she don't seem to care, I can choose me. I can choose peace. To hell with a fake friend.

I can say from what you have written that she was not worthy of having as a friend. You are better off without her,

ANd that's exactlyt what you should do. Put yourself first, the rest will fall into place.

She was not a true friend in the first place. You are wise to walk away ….look after yourself
