Stretch the Dollar Diaries #6: Small Order Sunday.

Here we are with another thrilling edition of Stretch the Dollar Diaries. In today's episode, I somehow manage to buy two things and still keep most of my money. I'd call that a win. The first thing in this order is a pink NeeDoh Mello Mallo squishy. Now, I'll be genuinely shocked if this actually turns out to be a real NeeDoh when it arrives. But hey, stranger things have happened, so we'll see. If you've been following my past orders, you've probably noticed that squishies are a pretty big deal around here. She child is absolutely obsessed with them, so I've been trying to include at least one in most of my orders. I can't even pretend it's just for her, though. I'm a fan too. The regular price for this squishy is $12.12. I paid just $2.57, which means I saved $9.55. I'll happily take that. The other thing I picked up was a Jack Skellington keychain from The Nightmare Before Christmas for she child. She's been really into Jack and Sally lately, and it's surprisingly hard to find merch for them (and the rest of the characters) around here. So whenever I spot something—especially if it's on sale—I grab it before it disappears. The original price for the keychain was $5.80. I paid $2.80, saving another $3.00. If I'd paid full price for everything in this order, it would've cost me $17.92 before tax. Instead, my total after tax was just $5.86. That means I saved $12.06. Not too shabby for buying things I was already planning to get. If you've been following along with this little experiment, you know I'm seeing just how far I can stretch my survey earnings and how much stuff I can actually buy with them. I started this whole adventure with $45 in survey earnings dedicated to this project, and I'm still spending from that original $45. So far, I've spent $24.55, which means I still have $20.45 left to play with. Honestly, I'm kind of impressed with how far this money has stretched. At this point, I have a feeling I'll probably keep this little experiment going even after that original $45 is gone. It's turned into a fun challenge, and apparently I enjoy seeing just how much bargain hunting I can squeeze out of every dollar. So what about you?
