An elderly made a joke directed at me yesterday which made my sister snapped!
My sister got offended with the joke as she took it as an insult to our relationship as siblings. The elderly got offended with how my sister reacted, as she was only joking and meant no offense as she knew nothing about our relationship.
My sister is a very sensitive person. She always thinks that people talk behind her back. Sometimes, a simple comment could mean something else to her.
In the end, she apologized to the elderly, and the elderly did the same. It was a simple misunderstanding.
All's well that ends well.

I have a co-worker that is extremely sensitive to everything that is said. I'm the opposite, I'm very laid back, nothing offends me very easily, and I take everything in stride. Even if people make fun of me, I just laugh right along side of them. It doesn't bother me.

@toniganzon I'm the same way, but even if someone is attacking me verbally or making fun of me in a serious way, I still don't get upset or offended. The best way to diffuse someone's attacking words is to play right along with it. Their words lose their power once they realize you won't react negatively to them.
