Why do so Many TV shows Present Scenes of Suicide?

It seems like every show I’ve watched lately has at least one scene depicting a suicide
In this Stephen King analogy I’m watching there have been several.
I need to research how prevalent suicide is in real life
At least the shows do give warnings about violence, nudity, self-harm, etc

You are right that television shows should issue warnings about self-harm so we can be advised not to tune in to the show.

Shock value I am sure. It's what Hollywood is all about.

A warning label on it would be good. I think it is featured because it is dramatic and most people fear it.

There are 22 veterans a day who die by their own hand. Veterans are about 6% of the population. Stretch that out across the general population and you'll see that it's extremely prevalent.
