100 Songs to Listen To: #1

I’ve tried several times over the years to start music series on here, and every single time the same thing happens—I get a few posts in, get distracted, and completely forget about it. So this time I’m keeping it simple by limiting the series to a nice, reasonable… 100 songs. ?? Here’s hoping I actually make it to the end. If you know me, you know my taste in music is all over the place. I’ve loved just about every genre for as long as I can remember, which makes my playlists a little chaotic. I thought it would be fun to share 100 songs that have meant something to me, left an impression on me, or have simply stuck with me over the years—and I’d love to hear what you think of them too. So, without further ado… Song #1 of 100: For Blue Skies by Strays Don’t Sleep. This song has to be close to 20 years old now. I first heard it on the One Tree Hill soundtrack back in the day, and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s one of those songs that instantly takes me back. Side note: I was definitely the emo girl in high school. Not the black hair and all-black wardrobe level, but I absolutely rocked the heavy black eyeliner and listened to plenty of what everyone called “emo music.” This song always fit that vibe for me. Give it a listen, and let me know what you think. I’m curious to see how many of these songs we have in common along the way.
