A little birdie (@teamfreak16) told me we needed more music posts. Since I just started this series and apparently insomnia has decided to become my full-time hobby, I figured I'd go ahead and post the second one tonight... this morning... whatever this weird in-between time is called. Since I went kind of emo with the first pick, let's head over to the other side of the tracks. (See what I did there? I'll be here all week.) This time we're going with a country song. And yes, it's country music—not "country and western." I don't know why, but hearing it called that makes me irrationally cranky. It sounds like someone is about to tell me the weather using a telegraph. Song number two is "Hope on the Rocks" by Toby Keith. It's not one of the high-energy, raise-a-glass anthems that the late Toby Keith was so well known for, but it's still one of my favorites. It's got a more reflective, bittersweet vibe. So yes... I somehow managed to pick another song that's a little emo. Just with more steel guitar and fewer black hoodies. I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time Mr. Keith shows up in this series. His catalog is way too good for just one appearance. Enjoy!
