I’ll Pay You When I Can

Why would someone sell something to someone else under the terms of “I’ll pay you when I can”? I would never turn over a car to someone else who didn’t pay me in full up front. Because here’s what happens. They’re never going to pay you. They find other things to spend their money on. They don’t honor the debt. There are so many cases on these court shows where one party says I’ll give you money when I have it and then they never have it. The court can’t enforce the debt because there was no clear expectation of payment dates and amounts. Don’t trust family or friends to make payments. It never works out

I’ve loaned money to my sister and then best friend. I knew without a doubt they’d pay me back, and they did. I have not done so in 22 years, and no longer have money to loan to anyone. People have asked, and I had the “benefit” of honestly being able to say no. But I never sold anything to anyone and didn’t get the money first.

Lol Not meaning to be rude But you would need to be real slow on the uptake and /or too trusting to sell under this condition I don't trust anyone with money apart from Yvonne Next time I buy stuff I will say I will pay you when I can

Several years ago, my nanny, who I was very fond of when I was.a kid, came to me. She said she wanted to borrow money and she said she'd pay me back when she could. I gave her the money and told her she need not pay me at all. I knew she wouldn't be able to anyway.

I never loan money to anyone. If they really need something I will go with them to get it. That way they do not spend the money on something else. I do not expect the money back.

That's our problem here. That's the usuall assurance our debtor promise. It's uncertain indeed that they couldn't pay their financial obligations on time. Just like you're waiting for nothing.
