Satisfying My Inner Kid.

Today I came across a post about people using their first salaries to finally buy things they had always wanted but never had. What warmed me most was the comment section having no criticism, just adults proudly satisfying their inner child. From toys and stylish goggles to cakes and favourite foods, everyone had their own little dream. For me, it was much simpler: snacks! I’ve slowly been satisfying that desire by buying a different snack every time I go monthly shopping. What was the first thing you bought with your salary simply because you had always wanted it?

With my first salary? I bought nothing with it. I kept it. I was just too excited that I got my very first salary as an employee. I already have my own money to buy what I wanted so having to finally work as a first time employee got me so excited that I never touched my first salary.

@Gladoun OH you took a photo. I didn't. I must have a camera back then if I wanted to because then our cellphones didn't have cameras.

That must have made it more memorable. I still have photos of my first salary, I withdrew all the money and made a photo of it which still feels silly but I love coming across the photo

When I first started working I used some of my salary to buy furniture for my apartment. I had my bedroom set, and my living room furniture but no dining table. So that was my big purchase!

@Gladoun It was nice! I pretty much had everything else, so that was a good choice.

I remember buying my mom something she had always wanted, not me.

That's heartwarming. Doing something for your mom must have made it even more meaningful.

I have always collected dolls. But, certain dolls I didn't have as a kid, I bought as an adult.

Aww, that’s sweet ????. It’s like giving your inner child the little pieces of childhood you once wished for. ??

I can't really remember but I think it was a special type of food I had always wanted
