This is going to take a while...

My tech-savvy neighbor told me to get all of the stuff I want to keep into a folder to download on a USB thingy so that when my computer gets a new hard drive, I'll have it all.
Jeez...I didn't realize that I had that many pictures. As I've gone along I've moved some into the "Stuff to Keep" folder and deleted some that I wondered why I was keeping. 
I'm keeping photos of things like my Mom, my nephews when they were babies/little kids, and name "tags" that were made for me ages ago. I'd forgotten about some of those. 
Also keeping photos of my previous dogs.
Right now it's 5:30 p.m. here in California, and I would like to figure out what to have for dinner.

His suggestion is good to do. It saves much time if we want to transfer data

I'm not doing one photo at a time--I'm doing them in groups.

@xstitcher I see. Still wouldn't dragging a folder over or putting what you want organized in a folder be an easier way to do it?

There sure are. I have been going through so many photos of my nephews when they were babies or little kids--and keeping all the photos of my mom and my dogs over the years--though so far I haven't run into photos of the second dog--I know she's got to be in there somewhere.
