Movie Reviews: F1 (2025)

So many of you know that I love car racing. I will never turn down an invite to the dirt track, the drag strip, or even a good old-fashioned asphalt race. That love of racing naturally carries over into movies, too. I know some people might think that being into racing, especially something like Formula 1, isn't a very "girl" thing. But if you've been reading my posts for any amount of time, you already know I don't really care what people think of me. I've never believed that certain things are just for boys or just for girls. If I enjoy it, I enjoy it. Simple as that. Anyway, one of my favorite types of racing is **Formula 1, or F1**. For anyone who isn't familiar with F1, it is the highest level of international single-seater motorsport. Drivers compete in incredibly fast, highly engineered open-wheel cars on a mix of purpose-built racing circuits and street circuits around the world. An F1 season is made up of multiple Grand Prix races, with teams and drivers earning points throughout the season as they compete for the World Drivers' Championship and Constructors' Championship. And honestly, there is so much more to F1 than just watching cars go fast. There's strategy, tire management, pit stops, aerodynamics, engineering, weather, teamwork, and sometimes a whole lot of drama. A race can change in a matter of seconds because of a safety car, a bad pit stop, changing weather, or one tiny mistake. That's part of what makes it so exciting to watch. Which brings me to **F1: The Movie**. If you haven't heard of it, *F1: The Movie* is a racing drama starring Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver who gets a chance to return to the sport and help a struggling team. The movie was made with the cooperation of Formula 1 and features real F1 race weekends, drivers, teams, and circuits, which gives it a much more authentic racing feel than your typical Hollywood racing movie. I love this movie and have watched it about fifteen times since it became available on streaming. So that should give you a good idea of how good it is. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Have you seen it?
