The Most Valuable Thing We Own Is Something We Can Never Buy Back...

A few days ago, I found myself scrolling endlessly through my phone, jumping from one app to another without any real purpose. Before I knew it, almost two hours had passed. That made me think about something we all know, yet often forget: time is the only thing we spend every day without knowing how much we have left. Money can be earned again. Lost possessions can be replaced. Even broken relationships can sometimes be repaired. But a single minute that has passed is gone forever. What surprises me is how willingly we trade our time for things that don't truly matter. We postpone conversations with loved ones, delay our dreams, and keep waiting for the "perfect moment" to start something meaningful. Over the years, I've realized that happiness rarely comes from major achievements alone. More often, it comes from simple moments—a heartfelt conversation, a quiet morning, helping someone in need, or sharing a laugh with family and friends. Life doesn't always ask us to do extraordinary things. Sometimes it simply asks us to be present. Today, I decided to spend less time worrying about tomorrow and more time appreciating what is already around me. After all, every ordinary day we live through is a day that someone else would have wished for. What is one thing you wish you had spent more time on in your life?

This really makes you stop and think about how easily time disappears without us even noticing. I think I would have spent more time with family and less time worrying about things that, looking back, were not really that important. The “perfect moment” is another one that catches so many of us. Sometimes the best moment is simply now. Life moves quickly, so appreciating the ordinary moments probably matters more than we realise.

I don’t know. I’ve always been one to put a great amount of time into relationships with family and friends. Maybe the last few years of my maternal grandmother’s life. She had gotten very cantankerous, and I do wish I had not let that keep me away from so many conversations with her. We had always been close, but her attitude always made me feel worse after speaking with her at the end.
