When did you realise your children were growing up?

Sometimes it happens in such a small moment. One minute you are helping them with everything, and suddenly they have their own opinions, routines and plans. It makes me wonder if we spend too much time trying to get through the busy years instead of enjoying them. What family moment made you realise, “Wow, they are growing up”?

I don't know, if they are starting to create their own plans with their friends.

Yes, that is definitely one of those signs that they are becoming more independent. When their friends and their own plans start taking priority, you suddenly realise they do not need you to organise every part of their world anymore. It can be a little bittersweet, but it is also something to be proud of.

I don’t have kids, but it’s been interesting watching my sister and brother-in-law deal with my niece in her teenage years. I’m glad it’s not me!

Haha, I can understand that! ?? Watching someone else navigate the teenage years can be quite entertaining when you are not the one responsible for handling the drama. I am sure your sister and brother-in-law have had their patience tested a few times!

It really is fascinating to watch, especially when you notice how quickly their personalities and independence develop. One minute they seem so little, and then suddenly they are making their own decisions and plans. Time really does fly!
