Somehow he had a quick memory of a brief piece of trivia and it floored me.
Remember the famous "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" song by Cyndi Lauper from 1983? Well, her version was a cover or a re-make of the original song.
I had no idea!
Now it gets even weirder. The original singer/songwriter was a MAN! Yep. His name is Robert Hazard.
I'll attach a link to his version of the song, but I'll warn you that it sounds really strange.

I did not know that Robert Hazard recorded the song before Cyndi Lauper had a hit song herself.

@looeyville I do prefer the original - less manufactured and antiseptic. Lauper , like most, commercially successful singers, is so over-packaged.
