Cassava tree

They are cassava trees not far from my workplace. They are grown as fence. In Indonesia cassava is popular for making snacks. But in some area they are staple food. For young cassava leaves are cooked as vegetable.

Cassava is in a lot of the vegan and vegetarian foods at the health food store.

Cassava can be toxic as well. It can poison people if eaten raw or improperly prepared. That's why I don't eat cassava that much. Especially when I don't know who prepared it

Oh, I did not know cassava could be used as a living fence like that. And now you have me thinking about the leaves too! I have only really thought of cassava as something you eat, not the leaves being cooked as a vegetable.
