The Great Asiatic Lion resides in the Protected Gir Forest Park

Close to the city of Jamnagar is the famous Gir Forest Park. This forest is home to the famous Asiatic lion. This species is now almost extinct in India, and the last remnants of this famous breed are protected in Gir Forest Park. At one time, India was home to hundreds of lions, but now they are confined to the national park in Gujarat. Thankfully, their numbers are growing. I visited the park on holiday, and I really enjoyed the lion show. This is the only place in India where lions are abundant. It is forbidden to kill any of these wild beasts, wild cats, and anybody doing this can get up to 10 years in prison. The Indian lion is a little more ferocious than the African lion, but the Indian government does not allow this species to be exported to any other zoo or place. I don't know whether this is the correct decision. Anyway, the lions have a home, and it's always a pleasure to watch them play around.
