I had a more obvious option to go with here, “This Town isn’t Big Enough for Both of Us,” but I’ve used that here before. Granted, it was back in 2019 (I scrolled and scrolled to find it, but it’s there,) so I went deep cut. Although, there is a slim chance you’ve heard “Big Boy” by L.A. rock duo/brothers Ron and Russell Mael, better known to the world as Sparks. “Big Boy” is a single from Sparks’ 1976 album, Big Beat. The album was produced by Rupert Holmes, who would have massive success with his pina colada song in 1979. And while the Mael’s called the album “bereft of personality,” “Big Boy” does have an arena rock anthem-style charm that should have made it a hit (sadly, it wasn’t.) Still, there’s a small chance you have heard it. Sparks performed the song in the 1977 thriller, Rollercoaster (Kiss turned down the offer, opening the door for Sparks.) It was a suspenseful thriller, yet performed dismally at the box office (there was a film called Star Wars that everyone was spending their money on at the time.) The song doesn’t appear on the film’s original soundtrack album, and in retrospect, the Mael’s called appearing in the movie the worst decision of their career. (I beg to differ. I became a fan after seeing the movie in the theater.) Despite all of that, I dig the tune. This town was big enough for all of us, it turned out. It’s just that not everyone wanted to live there. Too bad for them. Link is to the studio album version:

I could swear I heard part of this song on an episode of CSI: Miami 25 years ago, but I know that’s not right. Maybe it’s just David Caruso coming back to haunt me in interesting ways.

@teamfreak16 You are a wise man. Although, Megan what’s her name, Harry’s wife, was on it once.

It could be Portuguese, Spanish, or Celtic. Lots of Hispanics live in L.A., so it could be a Hispanic name.
