Indonesians enjoy drinking iced tea because it is refreshing, affordable, and pairs well with hot weather or oily foods. The hot climate makes iced tea a quick thirst-quencher. Sweet iced tea is considered the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes or fried snacks. This drink is available at almost all food stalls at a very affordable price. Consuming sweet iced tea too frequently can trigger diabetes. The tannin content in tea can inhibit iron absorption if consumed during or immediately after a meal. It is no surprise that the number of people with diabetes in Indonesia is rising sharply.

They serve sweet tea here in the South alot too. I avoid it, although I got one by accident the other day. It tastes fine, but I don't need the sugar.
