Using The Leg Pumps Didn’t Turn Out So Well

You all know that I had leg swelling on my last trip with continuing edema for a couple of weeks They told me to wear compression socks whenever I’m not sleeping So then my friend offered me a pair of pneumatic leg compression pumps. You know the kind I mean, the ones they put on you after surgery to prevent blood clots. My friend recently had knee replacement surgery and they gave them to her. I thought they’d be good for circulation. I put them on and they felt great. I loved the massage feeling But then about 5 minutes into it I started having chest and arm pain. I immediately took them off. It’s been 20 minutes and I still feel yucky. Of course I knew you shouldn’t use something your doctor didn’t order but it seemed harmless. I had even researched online first of it was safe. It should have been but there was a caution about pushing fluid up toward your heart if you had certain conditions, which I do not Nope I won’t be doing that again. That was really dumb! Oh, and look how much they cost!
