Deputies rescue a dog that was after the dog was exhausted during a hike

Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) answered an emergency call recently when a male dog named Atlas who weighs around 120-130 pounds who was tired and he could not continue walking in a mountain in New Mexico. The deputies worked in shifts to carry Atlas down the mountain for a while until placing Atlas in a Stokes basket when they came down the mountain after four miles traveling and took five hours to complete the rescue mission. Atlas is in good condition and reunited with his owner. Deputies with the BCSO are telling dog owners to bring plenty of water and watch for signs of an animal who is exhausted.
