Leak on Our Flat in Bath

It’s 9 in the evening and we are traveling from London to Bath as we heard that our newly renovated basement flat is flooded from the neighbours two floors up.
The fire brigade came today after being informed yesterday of our fire alarm getting activated. Upon investigation today it looked like our fire alarm short circuited from the leak. My husband and I are very worried as we just fixed our flooring as it rotted from a previous leak. This is also the second time that flat from upstairs leaked on us. The flat directly below them had their bathroom ceiling collapse due to incessant leaking from them.
We have been trying to get hold of the landlord as we want to discuss payment of damages and what their plans to avoid repeat situation but they are not responding and the one leasing that flat has been quite unhelpful too.

Yes we own the flat. Still on mortgage. We will speak to the landlord of the leaky house tomorrow. Our other neighbour managed to get a hold of him. Apparently he is one of those people who do not like answering phone for unknown numbers. I hope we can come to an amicable solution.

@Ineeddentures that’s what we thought as we pay it with the service charge but when we asked the building director she said we must discuss with the landlord of the problematic flat. I now wonder what we are paying them for.

We saw the upstairs neighbour today and he was very non committal at helping us fix the damage. Apparently the guy who leaked at our house is a squatter and the landlord cannot even enter his own property.

Oh no that's so stressful, especially having to travel there at night not knowing what you'll find. Twice from the same flat is just not okay, and the landlord going quiet on you makes it worse. Hope you get this sorted soon and they actually take responsibility this time.
