Maggi for Breakfast for a change

Not that I don't like maggi but for breakfast, I'd rather go for something else. Oats soaked in milk with almonds and chia seeds on the healthy side or wheat dahlia or upma or poha (flattened rice with groundnuts and chillies, soya chunks sauted with minced onions, garlic and curry leaves with a dash of lemon juice on the other. Earlier I used to have roti sabzi or puri sabzi but those days are gone. Not that I'm being lazy but there are two reasons I decided to go for maggi today. My sister is giving her last exam. She's going to prepare lunch before she goes to the centre. She loves maggi. The other reason being, due to incessant rains and the month coming to an end, I decided to use up everything that's left before preparing for the new grocery list. Cooking is an art. This craving for new recipes, delicious ones, has taken a backseat. With all the time we get, what deserves more attention is mental peace. Thank God, He has taken care of the need and provisions.

I looked up what maggi was since I’ve never heard of it. It’s wise to use up all you have now before you shop for more groceries.

It's a brand. For instant noodles, powdered soup and other condiments

@apsmine9 Really not healthy but for people who cannot afford real food, this is more than enough

I remember once coming across a post which says soldiers used to have cup-a noodles which sometimes was their only meal. Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Bhutan...I don't remember. But it caught up with the times when work in factories/industries, companies encroached upon daily routine. When modernism with poverty hit the cost of living, instant noodles, maggi came back. Not healthy though as they use preservatives in the masala pouches.

I think it is a fine thing to have such food in our system at random. I love it on rainy days. If I have all the time, I love cooking in the kitchen.

That's exactly I wanted to avoid. Cooking. Takes a lot of time.

@apsmine9 You have a point, especially if we are going to prepare the ingredients.

@Shavkat It's better off sometimes without the ingredients. I love it when my sister prepares it.

@apsmine9 of course, instant noodles is not good if you eat it always. Everything should be in moderation

That's so thoughtful making maggi for your sister on her exam day, small gesture but it means a lot. Using up the leftovers before rains and month end is such a practical move too. Totally agree cooking should feel peaceful not stressful, glad you found that balance.
