I Had Moxibustion Today

Yeah, don’t feel bad. I had no idea what moxibustion was either until today. I had my second acupuncture session, and she put something on each of my feet and lighted it with a cigarette lighter. You could smell it. She said it was mugwort. She said something about it heating up the body or Meridian or something. I have no idea. I just let her do it. It’s supposed to heat up acupuncture points to increase the flow of energy or something. She also put 10 needles in me for the acupuncture session and she also put an LED red light thing across my two knees for inflammation We’ll see where this path of treatment takes me

Ha, I had to look up moxibustion too when I first heard it. Sounds like a lot going on in one session, but the mugwort smell is kind of interesting. Hope your knees feel better soon, curious what you think after a few more visits.

Acupuncture is good for a lot of health ailments. I took an acupressure course. It is like acupuncture but without using needles you press the points with your fingers instead.

Acupuncture isn't crazy. I have had that, but moxibustion sounds nuts.

The red light thing is really supposed to help if kept in long enough. The energy and Meridian sounds like crap, but it certainly doesn’t hurt anything to do it. And it may not be crap at all! I’m so often wrong it’s not funny.
