16-Year Search for This Song Is Finally Over - Kismet

16 years! I have searched this song for 16 years and now it is over, can’t believe this is written and sung by a Filipino artist. Just like how I searched for Stitches and Burns of Fra Lippo Lippi, I have searched like gaga of this song. And now it is finally over... I was working in Makati, and it was raining. I was listening to my new hand-me-down Ipod (it was given to me by my generous cousin, who also downloaded all the songs stored on it). Then this song started playing, and I fell in love with it, not only because it is a love song, but because of the three lines of the song: “ And I’ll drive for 2 hours To bring butterfinger I don’t mind the distance” Butterfinger is my favorite chocolate in the world, on top of hersheys & M&M, and any dark chocolate made in Japan, lol! I thought my Ipod will run forever, I never bothered to check the song title nor the singer. I just want to cry! I spent hours asking Gemini AI for a list of boy bands from 2OO9 – 2O11 in the US, I thought for a moment even the AI is surrendering, and suggested to searched it on google, lol! So, I did. As I typed the query, I asked if it could find a song with “Butterfinger” in the lyrics during those years in any country... and it showed “Kismet” by Silent Sanctuary! 16 years!!! And I can't believe it is a song written and produced here in the Philippines. I thank God for this. The three songs I searched like crazy and waited decades to find: 1. Stitches and Burns By Fra Lippo Lippi 2. What Matter Most 3. Kismet By Silent Sanctuary Have you ever experienced this?

@luisadannointed However, on a lighter note - you could have composed your own song in these 16 years

That’s great! I actually have, with a song I heard in the 1990s. It was a female singer/songwriter and it didn’t do well on the charts for whatever reason(s). It took a good eight years to find the artist because apparently it was an indie label and the song title was very common. It felt good to hear it again, finally.

That's cool Amber. Kudos to all our hard work, hahaha, and its true if you really want something, it doesn't matter if you are limited with gadgets or whatever tools you might need, you can always find a way if you really want to. Hehehe. God bless.

Sixteen years is crazy, I'm so happy you finally found it. The butterfinger line is such a random thing to fall in love with a song over, but it makes the story even better. And yes, I've had a song stuck in my head for years before, the relief when you find it is unreal.

Butterfinger is my favorite, imagine a person that I love and love me back is driving for two hours just to give me that... who can't fall in love? hahahaha. I think I can sleep well... and yes the feeling is so unreal.
