Naturally They Charged Me More

United States

I mentioned the other day that I had gone to the UPS Store to ship a package to Texas. They can handle both United Parcel Service (UPS, the big brown trucks) or United States Postal Service (regular post office) deliveries. I talked about how the cheapest option was so expensive. Well, while I was there I also bought a roll of 100 stamps. It was $94.00. I honestly didn't know how much a US postage stamp costs nowadays because it seems like they raise the cost every 3 months. Well, as it turns out, stamps are only 82 cents each, so $82 for a roll of 100 so the UPS Store made a nice tidy profit of $12 selling me those stamps. Live and learn I guess.

I must be Pollyanna because I didn’t think they could do that.

I didn't either!!! I thought outlets had to charge the exact amount for something like Federally-governed postage stamps. I guess it's a "convenience fee"

Ouch, twelve dollars extra for the same stamps is annoying. I never would have guessed they mark them up like that either. Live and learn like you said, next time the post office for sure.
