A pilot is attacked. Severely injured, he manages to lead the airlines to a save landing. No lives lost. He gets international fame. When one is filled with love, one places others above self. Even at that moment when death was impending, he manages to alert the SOS, open the cockpit door and immediately is blessed with a plumber and a doctor. What if, this was the sole mission for which he was born? Israel, Rusia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, so many countries at loggerheads and yet the impending doom is averted by his constant prayer for divine intervention. It's all in the family. The family which teaches the right values to their kids are creating a generation of hope and enlightenment. Hail Smit!!

Smit was very brave. I can’t imagine his terror, or the fear of those on the plane. And how blessed were they that there were two stand by pilots on the plane that could land the jet safely. Israel is especially grateful for him standing against the hate.

Come to think of it, even in such a critical situation, he could hold on to his fears and pain he considered the lives of others as more important than him.

Smit Machchhar should be given awards by everyone. He is a hero. His friend told the BBC, “Smit has taught us courage.” Yes, he has. Salute to you, Captain Smit.
