There is nothing like getting a kick of adrenalin every afternoon watching the American Gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows." The soap aired on ABC from 1966 to 1971, and I made sure I was at home at 4 PM to watch the scariest half hour and find out who Barnabas would take for his next victim. I was addicted. The handsome dark-haired actor Jonathan Frid portrayed Barnabas, a vampire who could hypnotize most anyone. The story was set in Collinsport, Maine, and revolved around the Collins family, who lived in a big mansion. I was disappointed when it ended, but then they created a film, “The House of Dark Shadows." I recommend this film to all horror fans; it resurrected the 175-year-old vampire Barnabas. The story also hit on an interesting theme that through experimentation Barnabas could once again walk the Earth during the daytime. However, when the doctor who helps him betrays him, all anger is released, and every man or woman for themselves, Listen to the spooky “Quentin Theme” or “Shadows of the Night," which was the theme for Dark Shadows.
