Analyzing Ways to Save Money

Sometimes you have to take a step back to see if memberships that you're paying for are actually paying off or whether you need to scale them back or cancel them. Thankfully we don't have too many paid memberships to anything, but my project tonight is analyzing the ones we do have and making recommendations to hubby about whether or not we should continue them. One example is that we have a Sam's Club membership. A regular membership is $60/yr. and their "Plus" Membership is $120/yr. I think we went to the "Plus" membership a couple of years ago when the only place I could get the lactose-free protein shakes that I like was through Sam's shipping. With the "Plus" membership it was free shipping. That pretty much paid for itself. We no longer need to do that so I think when our "Plus" membership expires next month, we'll go back down to the Regular Membership. SAVINGS: $60 Then there's our Kroger Boost Membership. Shopping at Kroger doesn't cost anything. But a couple of years ago they were running a special in conjunction with getting a Kroger Mastercard for a free year of Boost Membership that included Disney+ streaming subscription and free delivery from the store to your door. The Boost Membership is now $99/yr. We don't utilize the free delivery and we don't watch anything on Disney+ so we're going to cancel the Boost Membership when it is set to renew in Feb 2027. SAVINGS: $99 So far that's an easy $159 savings. I'm going to keep looking for more opportunities.

I’m glad you don’t need those anymore. I’m still psyched about saving money by canceling my cable. What I have now is so much better for me.

@LooeyVille I have that through Amazon Prime (half price) and Walmart+ (I get half price) gives me Paramount+ free. I pay for both Prime and Walmart with my survey money.
