Well, will you look who’s showing up on the list? And oh, so many songs to choose from, too! He’ll be back on the L.A. countdown later in the month, but for now let’s go Hollywood with one of my top three favorites. The French Inhaler - Warren Zevon I can’t help myself. John Roberts said he wasn’t really surprised that, after being gone for six years, he comes back and discovers that I’m still using the same people. Well, favorites are favorites for a reason. And this is a good reason. Warren Zevon, as he was so brilliant at doing, painted an unflattering picture of the people who showed up with thoughts of fame and ended up looking like “something death brought with it in his suitcase.” It’s not a Chamber of Commerce song, certainly. But, honestly, every place has an ugly side. Zevon just relished in pointing that out about his hometown. The French Inhaler Written by Warren Zevon Recorded by Warren Zevon From Warren Zevon, 1976 HOLLYWOOD LYRICS: With these phonies in this Hollywood bar
