Two weeks until my next trip

Yes, it’s almost that time. In two weeks, I’ll be flying off to Malta for a week of rest and relaxation and sightseeing and adventure, all by myself. I do sometimes need to just be alone. Once I arrive at Malta, I’m sure things will be wonderful, but getting there is just bloody awful. As @xFiacre will tell you, flying is for the birds. Oh, I did not realize I just made a pun. Silly me. But seriously, flying long distances it’s not for the feint of heart. The seats are uncomfortable. The people are like herding cats. The airline food is abhorrent. You often get stuck sitting next to someone who is stinky. There are very long layovers. The airports are not well marked and difficult to navigate. Airport food is ridiculously expensive. And there’s never enough seating while you’re waiting for your plane at the gate. My plans once in Malta are very simple. Swim in the rooftop infinity pool overlooking the bay. Walk several miles a day along the promenade along seaside. Visit the Blue Grotto. And do a lot of people watching. This is my last trip of 2026
