It's sad

A man was reported to have suffered a loss of one lakh inr from his bank account. No OTP, no message, no response. While many of us are unaware, these mishaps are difficult to avoid. It's in the news. But how can one keep that heavy an amount at home when there's daily news of thefts going on? What do you suggest he should do?

Lots of banks have safty deposit boxes, people can rent to hold valuables. Maybe he could rent one, if his bank has them available.

Thing is, now that the money is gone, definitely he won't be able to retrieve the full amount even if he resorts to take help from cyber crime officials. He has brought it to the media already that's there.

Does he not have some sort of theft protection? Maybe that is not possible.

That sounds really scary, losing that much with no OTP or message. I think he should call his bank right away and report it on the cyber crime helpline, the sooner the better. Maybe also keep a smaller amount in the account he uses for online stuff, just to be safe.
